About Jeff Pierce
Jeff Pierce’s passion for boating began in early childhood, learning to sail and water-ski at his family’s cottage in northern Wisconsin. His lifelong love for the water continued as he owned a 27’ Sea Ray, which his family enjoyed on the Fox Lake Chain for five years. He later moved up to a 37’ Sea Ray, spending eight years boating out of Burnham Harbor in Chicago.
In 2006, Jeff took on a major project when he purchased a 52’ Jefferson that had been abandoned for four years. Over the next two years, he painstakingly restored and updated the vessel, Broke-R, completing much of the work himself. After seven years with the Jefferson, he purchased a 1999 Sea Ray 460 Sundancer.
Jeff’s extensive boating experience led him to become a yacht broker following a successful 35-year career in sales and sales management within the computer and networking industries. During that time, he earned numerous awards as a top performer, including being the company’s #1 performer on four separate occasions. For the past 20 years, his work as a yacht broker has fulfilled his lifelong passion for boating.
He has also been an active member of the Chicago Yacht Club for over 25 years.
Professionally, Jeff is a member of the Yacht Brokers Association of America. In July 2007, he earned his Florida Salesman License, followed by his Florida Yacht Broker License two years later—making him one of only three Florida Yacht Brokers in the southern half of Lake Michigan at the time.
In 2008, Jeff achieved the designation of Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB), becoming one of only 17 CPYBs in the southern half of Lake Michigan.
Jeff holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
